The Azerbaijan Tourism Board, operating under the State Tourism Agency, organized a promotional event in Seoul, South Korea, to highlight Azerbaijan’s tourism potential.

During the event, it was announced that direct flights from Seoul to Baku will commence in May 2025, operating once a week on Fridays. These flights, planned to continue until mid-July 2025, will be operated by AZAL (Azerbaijan Airlines).

Speaking at the event, Ramin Hasanov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to South Korea, emphasized that the direct flights will significantly contribute to bilateral relations, mutual promotion, and increased tourist exchange between the two nations.

The networking event gathered representatives from South Korea’s tourism industry, media, influencers, and leading Azerbaijani tourism companies. The meeting facilitated discussions on potential collaborations, while providing attendees with detailed insights into Azerbaijan’s nature, historical landmarks, cultural heritage, modern architecture in Baku, UNESCO-listed sites, and diverse tourism offerings.

Notably, in the first ten months of 2024, the number of South Korean visitors to Azerbaijan increased by 91% compared to the same period last year, reflecting a growing interest in Azerbaijan as a travel destination.
